Historically the Maldives has two most popular tourist seasons: dry (November-April) and wet (May-October).
Dry season (November-April)
Sunny weather, calm sea, perfect visibility. The best time for diving and water sports. Prices are higher but conditions are excellent.
Wet season (May-October)
Variable weather, brief showers possible. But days are usually sunny. Prices are 20-40% lower. Ideal for budget travellers.
